Mō tēnei tūranga | About this role
The role of Senior Internal Auditor is to deliver assigned engagements in accordance with terms of reference and professional standards. They are proficient in developing a thorough understanding of the engagement activity, building relationships with key staff, and develop appropriate procedures to meet the engagement scope and objectives. This role, whilst reporting administratively to the Practice Manager, works collaboratively with Assurance Principals under the leadership of the Assurance Director.

Salary range:
  • Senior Internal Auditor - $96,598 - $117,175 + 3% kiwi saver.
The successful candidate(s) will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.

The role requires a degree-level or equivalent professional qualification and at least three years of advisory or assurance delivery experience.

Mātau rōpū ake | About our ministry, group, and team
Internal Audit and Assurance has an important role to safeguard trust and confidence in the Ministry. We provide a broad range of risk-focused assurance and advisory services to improve enterprise systems, business processes and change initiatives that are critical for the achievement of priority outcomes for the education system. We are located in the Office of the Secretary for Education, which reflects the importance of our purpose and independence.
We recently adopted agile auditing and a matrix team structure in response to changes to the Ministry. Our new ways of working enables us to raise risk insights and deliver improvement advice in better time and more inclusively with our clients.
