Costing Clerk [South Africa]


 

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Cost Clerk will support the Finance and operations team by providing information that will aid decision making and drive profitability, operational efficiency and effective cost control. The Cost Clerk will identify and drive system improvement opportunities and ensure efficient and effective policies, controls and processes are put in place.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure procurement process is followed
  • Perform a detailed review process on existing and future suppliers
  • Develop relationships with existing and new suppliers
  • Ensure compliance in terms of SAGE and the relevant supplier paperwork, providing creditors with PO codes and GL codes
  • Legal query assistance
  • Assist development manager with cost management and project accounting
  • Management of Capital expenditure
  • Analysis and reporting of accounts to development manager and finance team
  • Perform key ratio analysis like rent to sales, electricity to sales and other key ratios
  • Provide exception reports on deviations between the policy and process
  • Lease management and other adhoc related queries including assistance with the MDA system

REQUIREMENTS:

  • B.Com with 10 years experience or Diploma or bookkeeping course with 15 years related experience
  • Procurement exposure (requirement)
  • SAGE experience (advantageous)
