Job description:
General Role Purpose (brief description of this job)
Responsible for performing repair of machinery and components at high level of efficiency and quality. Under the supervision of the Shift Foreman, the Mechanic assembles, installs, services, diagnoses and repairs mobile equipment.
Qualifications (required for job) & Knowledge & Experience
- Relevant Trade Certificate - Mobile Plant Mechanic (HD Diesel Fitter / Mechanic)
- Previous Mechanical experience with skills necessary to meet applicable task proficiency matrix (i.e. troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic, electrical and diesel engines with a primary focus on diesel equipment)
- Driving license.
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering prints.
- Basic knowledge of tool geometry and application
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Core Specific Responsibilities & Expected Deliverables
- Ensure work is undertaken in compliance with H&S (e.g. isolation, lock out and tag out), quality and environmental standards and procedures.
- Inspect, repair, install and test mechanical equipment in order to ensure that relevant specifications/requirements are met.
- Carry out scheduled planned installation and maintenance work on mechanical equipment in compliance with company procedures in order to minimize operational delays.
- May act as a resource to less experienced technicians.
- Maintain the work area in a clean and safe condition.
- Assist and/or carry out logistical activities, such as transportation and/or driving of vehicles, personnel, materials, equipment and supplies to and from work areas, camps and other company facilities, as required by the supervisor.
- Maintain and take care of company tools, vehicles and equipment.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.

Operational Requirements
Cobre Panama is a remote site. This exciting position is based on-site and will be focusing on driving and delivering operational accountability and ownership across various units at Cobre Panama site. Rosters and working hours may vary depending on business requirements.
Environmental Responsibilities
- Comply with current environmental regulations in Panama
- Comply with the commitments contained in the Environmental Impact Studies and other additional studies in this regard, which apply to your area and activities.
- Comply with the provisions of the Minera Panama Environmental Management System.
